Dili has a population of over 300, 000 people and over half of them are under 25 years old. Many of the young people have migrated from the districts to find work, education opportunities or at the request of extended family. Limited services exist for these young people and Youth Off The Streets Overseas Relief Fund has established a holistic, client centered Youth service that engages young people on their own level - The first of its kind in Timor Leste. We are training locals from these communities to run outreach, recreational activities, case management, educational services and more... Whether it be at outreach or in our youth centre - young people can access a Youth worker and receive advice, support, a helping hand and have some fun with services that are culturally appropriate and proven to work in diverse communities around the world. We work with some of the most marginilized young people in the country - Young people who often don't have anywhere else or anyone else to go to.
