Neema Housing Project
In 2016 the Overseas Relief Fund teamed up with Neema Crafts – an organisation that works to create opportunities for people who have been considered a burden by society and change societies negative attitudes towards them. With the support of the company EG and Australian Paralympian Adam Kellerman We were able to build new homes for a number Neema staff, helping them and their communities overcome adversity and break down some of the barriers and stereo types that had left them with immense life struggles. Adam Kellerman ,along with reps from eg visited the sites in Iringa, central Tanzania and gave a heartfelt and incredibly inspiring presentation on his story – A story of overcoming his own battles, including cancer that almost killed him and resulted in him losing his hip, to achieve greatness by discovering his own abilities again. We will continue to work with Adam, EG and Neema Crafts to provide low cost and sustainable housing for truly inspirational people in Tanzania.
